Friends of Matènwa
Friends of Matènwa supports programs that offer the Matènwa, Lagonav island community, and by extension other communities of Haiti, opportunities to pursue non-violent education in the local language. The innovative curriculum is coupled with agricultural development, and social justice initiatives via the Matènwa Community Learning Center. The Ansaras have funded the development of women-run farmers market food stalls to diminish reliance on food from off the island of Lagonav.
